FLICKERFEST HIGHLIGHTS CAIRNS FILMMAKING TALENT

What’s up Power Nation! The International Short Film festival known as FlickerFest has been touring around Australia the past few months, and this Wednesday the 13th of March it will be making an appearance in Cairns. This festival showcases the very best of Australian Short Films, and this year nine in total will be screened at the Cairns Performing Arts Centre (CPAC). Among them is Eternal by Cairns based director S.F Tusa, which tells a story about three young teenagers with troubled home lives connecting with and supporting each other over one night of fun.

Of the 2,700 short films submitted to FlickerFest last year only 60 finalists were chosen, with Eternal being the only one of those 60 filmed and produced entirely in Far North Queensland. The short film and its fantastic coming of age story represent the incredible filmmaking talent that resides in the Cairns region, and by attending events such as FlickerFest you not only support the artists directly involved but help to shine a light on the creative arts industry in the region and let our presence be known.
