CALL OUT TO ALL DANCERS AND DANCE GROUPS FOR ‘WARRIOR DANCE’ MUSIC VIDEO!

Want to be a part of a music video fam? This is your chance to showcase your skills!

‘Warrior Dance’ is an upcoming empowering grass roots and hip hop song by Mau Power that celebrates the survival of a culture and hopes to awaken a sense of community connectedness. The music video will be filmed in the Cairns region. We are looking for all ages and dance styles to display their talents.

Date: Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th of March 2019
Time: Saturday 8:30am – 6pm, Sunday 8:30am-1pm
Location: 29-31 Sondrio Street, Woree

Our Goal: We hope to achieve a look and feel similar to the music film clip for ‘Unforgettable’ by French Montana ft. Swae Lee, and ‘Yeah x3’ by Chris Brown.

With the film clip for ‘Warrior Dance’ we are hoping to represent the multicultural background of Far North Queensland. We encourage dancers to represent their culture, and they are welcome to bring flags and other materials representative of their cultural background. Ultimately, we want to collaborate with people of all nations to create a sense of unity through dance. By creating content in Far North Queensland we are providing a unique opportunity to showcase the artistic talent of those living here. Mau Power has been in the arts industry for over 20 years, with his upcoming album ‘Blue Lotus the Awakening’ releasing later this year.

Wear what makes you feel comfortable. All traditional styles welcome! Wearing black is fine but try bring an accessory with a block colour to create more dimension. Try avoid clothing with big logos displayed.

Free sausage sizzle and fruit will be provided to those participating for volunteering their time.

Each person wishing to participate in the film clip must sign a media release form, which can be obtained here (Warrior Dance Media Release Form), on the day and/or by emailing maupowerproject@gmail.com which will also come with an information sheet for you to look over.

While at the shooting location we ask if everyone can show RESPECT to the property and avoid roaming to close to the road. We also would like everyone to understand this is a film production, there will be times it will be very high intensity, then periods of waiting around for the next shot to be set up.

If you are under the age of 18 please make sure to also have a parent or guardian sign for you.
